Cultural Activities at Katikati College

MUSIC:
The school has many different musical instruments for hire and itinerant music teachers offer expert tuition in these. Instrumental tuition is available for all year levels.
Instruments taught include drums, guitar, brass, woodwind and keyboard.
The Smokefree Rockquest is an annual event with as many as three student-led bands entering the competition.
The talent quest is always well entered and our students go on to regional events.

DRAMA:
In addition to teaching academic courses in Drama, the school comes
together for a school production every two years.

WHARE WANANGA: Learning centre for Te reo and Tikanga Maori
             (Language and Culture).

KAPA HAKA:
Kapa Haka is growing in strength in the College with a group of nearly 40 students who practice twice a week.
This is further enhanced by the Te Waharoa Performing Arts course offered in the senior school.

Our students perform at many events and are building towards the regional competition.
