“Where creativity and sound combine”

Katikati College Music Department is a small yet vibrant performing arts department which succeeds in meeting most of the musical needs of our students.

Students are encouraged to get involved in the extra –curricular opportunities and to extend their knowledge by taking Music as an option subject from Year 9 onwards.

The Department has an ongoing commitment to upgrading its resources. In 2011 19 newer computers were installed, each with the latest version of Sibelius (Composing software) and Garage Band.

Community ties are encouraged with local musicians playing alongside students, especially in the Concert and Jazz Bands.
