Arts

Students are invited to learn a musical instrument through the Music Department. Lessons are for half an hour a week during class time and are either individual or group based depending on the ability of the student.

Currently we run two different systems within the school.

Government funded lessons are provided free to the students. There is a one-off fee charged to all students to cover strings, reeds, repairs, tuning, tutor books, etc. Currently government funded lessons are available in Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Steel Pan, Violin, Viola and Cello.

Private lessons are held on site so students can access lessons without leaving school to attend. These are paid for by parents directly to the tutor. Currently private lessons are offered in Drums, Piano/ Keyboard and Electric Guitar.

Parent and students can collect an enrolment form from the student office to enrol for lessons.

There are also numerous cultural and  performing arts opportunities for students  to actively engage with, meet new friends,  refine skills and have fun! Some of the  exciting activities on offer are  art activities,  workshops with professional dancers  and musicians, cultural dance festivals,  competing in regional and national  competitions, community performances  and trips to live theatre.
